The British Open Sporting and British Open Sportrap is held each year, usually towards the end of August.
The Sporting is a 120 target event shot over 15 layouts. This is a little step up from the English Open but just as enjoyable.
For the British Open Sporting we have 4 qualifying days Tuesday – Friday.
From each qualifying day, the top 5 scorers from each class AAA – C, the top 3 scorers from the categories - Seniors, Ladies, Veterans, Super Veterans, Juniors and Colts and the top 3 disabled shooters (1 sitting, 1 standing and the next placed from either) will be invited to shoot the finals day on the Saturday
On the Saturday, a new 75 target course will be shot by everyone invited back to shoot the finals day with the top 6 shooters from the day going through to the Super Final. Shoot offs will determine any spaces for the Super Finals as well as any positions for class or category.
The Superfinal will include 25 targets over 3 stands (8-8-8-8+1FUG). Your score from the Final day ex75 carries into the Superfinal. Any ties after the 25 targets are decided by shooting a new pair of targets (5 pairs in total). *If still tied then move to sudden death with a new single-target single-barrel.
Prize giving for the BO ESP is on the Saturday afternoon after the 6 person super final.
The Sportrap is 100 targets shot over 4 layouts. The Sportrap is shot over four days from Tuesday to Friday.
The best score wins, there will be no six-man Super Final. On the Friday afternoon, shoot offs will determine the top 3 places overall as well as the top 3 in Class and Category. This is followed by a prize giving ceremony.
This year the event is being held at Eaton Hall from Tuesday 26th - Friday 29th August 2025
